Azerbaijan: Seven survivors of AZAL plane crash arrived in Baku


Seven survivors from the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) plane crash have arrived in Baku.
The tragic incident claimed the lives of 38 out of 67 passengers on board, including 42 Azerbaijanis.
An investigation into the causes of the crash has been ordered by President Ilham Aliyev, who also declared a national day of mourning.
Among the survivors, those in critical condition are being transferred to hospitals in Azerbaijan via the Ministry of Emergency Situations' aircraft.
The flight, operating between Baku and Grozny, crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan, on December 25, with nationalities among the passengers including Russian, Kazakh, and Kyrgyz individuals.
The government's establishment of a State Commission, led by Prime Minister Ali Asadov, aims to thoroughly investigate the incident's circumstances.
This heartbreaking event has profoundly affected the nation, emphasizing the need for enhanced aviation safety measures.
